Suspension Of Jockey

(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 11. For causing interference to Luxinne, Leon Libeau, and Fond Embrace in the Moturoa Hack Handicap on the first day of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s autumn meeting on Saturday, C. B. Smith, rider of Wincille, was suspended from riding by the judicial committee until Friday, April 5, 1957. The inquiry was adjourned from the first day until today when the club concluded its meeting. At an adjourned inquiry into the fall of Highlander and Emerald Isle in the Paul Memorial Handicap on the first day, it was found that Emerald Isle knuckled over and fell, bringing down Highlander. The fall was entirely accidental as Emerald Isle was clear.
