SCOUT TRAINING IN CLIMBING

PARTY AT CARRINGTON HUT

Rover scouts from many parts of New Zealand are assembled at Carrington Hut in the Arthur’s Pass region. They are taking part in a full course of mountaineering instruction, and - will later make the three-pass trip over Harman, White Horn, and Browning Pass, and will arrive at Hokitika in January. The visitors to Canterbury were welcomed to Christchurch by the Provincial Commissioner (Sir Joseph Ward) and the Commissioner for Rover Scouts (Mr C. Cook) before the rovers’ departure for the mountains.
