THREE OTHER MEN INJURED

CARS COLLIDE NEAR MAHENO (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, December 23. Four men were injured, one fatally, v/hen two cars collided, head on. on a straight stretch of the Oamaru-Dune-din main highway, two miles ‘south of Ma’neno, at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday. The man killed was Raymond Leslie Blackie, aged 25, of 11 Leith street, Oamaru. He was a mechanic employed by the Railways Department.

Mr Blackie was taken to hospital after the accident, and died at 9.30 a.m. today. The injured men are:— Eeaton Francis O’Brien, aged 33, an electrician, the only other occupant of Mr Blackie’s car. Mr O'Brien’s home is at 4 Tay street. Oamaru. He suffered facial injuries and lacerations. lan George Duthie, aged 17, a musterer, of Herbert, the driver of the second car. He suffered slight concussion and cuts. His condition is satisfactory. Geoffrey Franklin Bishop, aged 16, a musterer, of Herbert. He suffered scalp injuries. His condition is satisfactory. All three were admitted to hospital. Both cars were completely wrecked.
