SIX ACCIDENTS IN 30MIN
COLLISIONS IN EARLY EVENING
Six traffic accidents in Christchurch between 6 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. yesterday kept St. John ambulance men and the motor accident section of the police unusually busy. All the accidents occurred in the area between the belts.
Mr Frank Tulley, of 395 Tuam street,' was injured in a collision between his auto-cycle and a car driven by Mr Colin Norton Knowles, of 23 Livingstone street, at the corner of Tuam street and Fitzgerald avenue. Mr Tulley was taken by a St John ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital and admitted. His condition last evening was reported as satisfac tory.
When a motor-cycle, ridden by Mr Henry Howard, of 248 New Brighton road, was involved in a collision with a truck driven by Mr J. Vryenhoek, of 255 Gloucester street, a pillion passenger on Mr Howard’s motor-cycle. Miss Cecilia Moor . of Saltwater Creek, suffered minor injuries
Mr Thomas Collier, of 178 Bower avenue, was injured when a car in which he was a passenger overturned when it was involved in a collision with another car at the corner ot Bealey avenue and Manchester street. The driver of the overturned car was Mr Arthur John Corrigan, of 70 Grants road, and the driver of the other car was Mr Arthur Graham Jamieson, of 264 Bealey avenue. Mr Collier was taken by a St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital and admitted His condition last evening was reported as satisfactory.
Miss Edna May King, of 2288 Kilmore street, was slightly injured when her bicycle was involved in a collision with a car driven by Mr Gerald Bernard Lynskey, of 305 Armagh street, at the corner of Armagh and Barbadoes streets. A motor-cycle and a truck collided
at the corner of Colombo street and Moorhouse avenue, and there was another accident at the corner of Tuam and Manchester streets.
Another accident occurred at 7.45 p.m., when two cars collided at the corner of Milton and Browning streets. A pedestrian was also involved. The driver of one car, Mr K. Radburn, of 30 Whiteleigh avenue, and a passenger, Mr B. Baker, of 606 Barbadoes street, and a boy, George McLeod. of 29 Browning street, were slightly injured, and were taken by a St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital. After treatment they were sent home.
When he fell from his motor-cycle at the corner of Burlington and Hastings streets about 11.15 p.m. yesterday. Mr Colin Hurrell was injured. He was taken by a St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital and admitted.
