Mr E. A. Gibson, who recently retired as Director of Civil Aviation, has been presented with a barometric clock by Pan American Airways. The presentation was made by the firm's director in New Zealand. Mr Rush Clark, on behalf of Colonel Clarence Young, vice-president in charge of the Pacific-Alaska division of the airline. —<P.A.)
Mr P. O. F. Pyatt, A.R.A.N.Z.. Palmerston North, has been awarded the 1956 travelling scholarship of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. (P.A.).
Mr R. J. W. Neville, formerly of Christchurch and now living in Wellington, has passed the geography examinations for master of arts degree with honours, at Victoria University College. He has been appointed to a post with the Town and Country Planning Branch of the Ministry of Works in Wellington. Mr C. O. Pratt, who has been Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland for the last eight years, will retire on December 31. —(P.A.)
