New U.S. Guided Missile
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Dec. 19. The United States Air Force is preparing to launch production of a long-range missile to supplement United States air defences, it was i eported today. The United Press quoted informed sources as saying that the missile, known as Bomarc, would team up with the Nike and Talos guided missiles to create a push-button defence in depth against enemy bomber attack.
Together, the missiles would back up the United States interceptor, plane force.
The Bomarc. powered by two ramjet engines, is reported to have a range of about 200 miles.
