ST. MARGARET’S OLD GIRLS
OFFICERS ELECTED BY ASSOCIATION
Nearly 140 former pupils of St. Margaret’s College attended the annual reunion dinner of the Old Girls’ Association, held last evening in Beath’s restaurant.
The president (Mrs W. L. Partridge) received the guests. Gifts from the association of shoulder sprays were presented to Mrs Partridge. Miss J. P. Crosher. patron of the association and headmistress of the school. Mrs W. Nicholson, president of the Timaru branch and Mrs G. McK. Hill, an Auckland branch representative.
Miss Marjorie Best was elected president of the association at the annual general meeting which, followed the dinner. Other officers elected were:—Honorary vice-presidents, Mrs J. N. Hamilton, Mrs W. Smith and Miss L. Gardner; vice-presidents, Mrs A. H. Johnstone, Mrs J. B. Williams and Miss G. Rankin: honorary secretary, Mrs E. G. Guillermo; assistantsecretary, Mrs J. B. Jameson; honorary treasurer, Mrs C. L. Sturge: committee Mesdames H. Wauchop. E. Taylor. H. Deans, R. Dendle. S. Milne. Misses i E. Hamann and L. Bunt; honorary auditor, Mr Mervyn Vile. Appreciation of the service given by the retiring president (Mrs Partridge) was expressed by Miss L. Gardner. Miss Best presented Mrs Partridge with a spoon engraved with the association's monogram. • Plans of the school library which it is hoped that the association will build were on view. Reports were received from branches. Mrs Betty Carr, a former pupil, spoke of her recent overseas tour. Members of the Armagh Circle held a morning tea meeting as part of the reunion celebrations yesterday. The guests were received by Mrs G. Rich, assisted by Mrs A. H. Johnstone. Mrs Rich was re-elected convener of the circle, with Mrs Johnstone as her assistant.
