LANCASTER PARK REVENUE

SURPLUS ABSORBED BY IMPROVEMENTS

Although the Victory Park Board completed its financial year with a £10,004 surplus, all this amount had been absorbed in improvements to the park, the secretary (Mr K. N. McGiLivray) reported to the annual meeting of the board.

In the last three years—during which Canterbury had held the Ranfurly Shield—the board’s total surplus was £19,257. In the previous 35 years the board’s annual average surplus was less than £4OO, said Mr McGillivray.
