KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION
MONTHLY MEETING OF COUNCIL
Remits to the conference of the New Zealand Free Kindergarten Union were discussed at the monthly meeting of the Christchurch Kindergarten Association’s council. Mrs K. B. McCreanor was nominated for the presidency of the union, and Mrs F. E. Burrell as the Christchurch representative.
Preliminary plans were made for Daffodil Day on September 28. and a sub-committee was appointed. The principal of the Kindergarten Training College (Miss R. Wilkie) reported good attendances at all kindergartens.
The resignation of Mrs J. Sampson, supervisor of students, was accepted with regret, and appreciation of her services was expressed. Mrs P. Tracey was appointed to fill the vacancy. Miss A. Nyhane was appointed to Edmonds Park Kindergarten and Miss S. Hay to McKenzie Kindergarten. Miss I. Oakley was reported to have resumed dutv after leave of absence. Mrs R. C. Neville was appointed an associate member of the Sumner Free Kindergarten committee. Mrs A. Butterworth was appointed to the Phillipstown committee. The following were elected to the education committee: Mr D. Mackay (chairman), Professor H. E. Field, Dr P. J. Lawrence. Mesdames L. W. McCaskill, McCreanor. A. F. Johnson, F. E. Buffcell Miss J. Hay. Miss N. Tyndall, the principal of the Training Colleee, and a member of the staff. The selection and appointments committee was also elected. Mrs Burrell presided.
