MURDER IN CYPRUS
British Official Shot Dead (Rec. 12.30 a.m.) NICOSIA, June 6. A British Government official in Cyprus was shot dead today near Limassol's Greek gymnasium. His Cypriot-Turkish driver was wounded. The victim was a British official of the Education Department. Terrorists shot him dead on the steps in the Limassol School gymnasium as he was entering to conduct an English examination there. The dead man's name has withheld until his relatives in Britain have been notified.
He is the fortieth Briton—and the fourth British civilian—killed since terrorist activity began in April lasi year in support of the' campaign for union of the island with Greece.
