Wave Of Unrest

(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) NEW DELHI. Jan. 25. Troops stood by in the eastern Indian State of Orissa today after the wave of unrest across India over th* redrawing of State boundaries. The Army has been ordered to be ready for any eventuality in Cuttack. Orissa, after the derailment of two trains la.-.t night. One person was killed and 13 injured. The casualties occurred when the Bombay-Calcutta train was derailed aoout 340 miles from Bombay. In the second derailment reports said that demonstrators tied a railway gangman to a tree and then removed the fishplates from the line. A goods train was derailed. The Orissa Government announced today that all trains passing through the State will be guarded. Cuttack and the holy city of Purl have been in a state of unrest since the Indian Government’s decision to reorganise the States. The railways have been a particular target of attack by ihe demonstrators, who have also attacked the Cuttack radio station and the homes of government officials.
