STAMP EXHIBITION IN CHRISTCHURCH
SPECIAL POSTMARK FOR THREE DAYS
Final plans are now complete for the combined stamp exhibition to be held in Christchurch from September 13 to September 16. Organised by the Air Mail Society of New Zealand and the New Zealand Stamp Collectors* Club, the exhibition will cover more than 3000 square feet of floor space, and 1200 square feet of display stands will be used to exhibit entries which have been received from many countries.
The Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department (Mr C. A. Macfarlane) has granted a post office to the exhibition, and a special postmark will be applied to all mail posted there. An official souvenir cover has been prepared by the committee, and it is expected that many collectors will be interested in obtaining letters posted with the exhibition cancellation. As this month will mark the silver jubilee of the Air Mail Society of New Zealand early New Zealand air mail stamps will be a feature of the exhibition.
