After saving a follow-on, by 3 .runs at Lords this morning, Middlesex dismissed the South Africans for 187 and were left to make 334 to win. . At the close, Middlesex had scored 27 without loss, and now need 307 for victory with one day left to play. A devastating spell by toe pace bowler, Peter Heine, put the tourists in a commanding position, but the South Africans batted shakily in the second innings to give Middlesex a chance. (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, August 29. When F. J. Titmus, the 22-year-old offbreak bowler, captured the wicket of J. E. Cheetham. the South African captain, at Lord’s today, he broke a Middlesex record which had stood for 55 years. This wicket took his number of successes for Middlesex this season to 155 surpassing the 154 wickets of A. E. Trott in 1900.
