“Not Indoctrinated” In Prison (Rec. 10 p.m.) HONOLULU, June 2. Captain Harold Fischer, an American fighter pilot, said here today that the Communists had failed in their attempts to indoctrinate him in his two years in prison. They had tried to show him the theory of communism but had failed to explain how it would work in practice, but they tried, he added. Captain Fischer was speaking at a press conference which also was attended by the three other American pilots released with him on Tuesday near Hong Kong. ’ The four pilots arrived at Honolulu yesterday on their way back to the United States. Members of their families who are being flown out to meet them are due in Honolulu today. Asked about “brain washing,” Captain Fischer, who did most of the talking for the pilots, said it was a tricky term, and said a better phrase for it was “brain-changing,”
