FINISHES OF FIRST AND SECOND LEGS OF DOUBLE.—TOP: Ray Ribbon (on left) and the North Island stayer, Easterbrook, in a great finish to the Great Autumn Handicap at Riccarton yesterday. Ray Ribbon won by a head. Americus (rails) was a weakening third and Toparoa, partly obscured by Easterbrook, half a length further back fourth. Wait a Bit (head showing) was fifth and Royal Voyage (on right), sixth. BOTTOM: Watch and Wait (second from rails) narrowly beating Bosky (inner) and Field Chief in the Templeton Handicap, the second leg of the double. Russleigh finished strongly wide out for fourth. Others in the picture are, from left, Lord Rowallan, The Hob, and Fulgent.
