TIN HAT CLUB BEATS OFFICERS’ CLUB
The Christchurch Tin Hat Club beat the Canterbury Officers’ Club by games to 11J in their annual golf match, played at Rangiora yesterday. The morning round was singles match play over nine holes, the Tin Hat Club winning by 11 games to 8. Results (Tin, Hat Club names first): H. J. Dinneen beat B. W. Nicholas: W. T. Wood beat A. Stubbings; S. Gabites beat T. Patterson; T. White beat L. W. Menzies: M. Tonkin lost to F. S. Penman; A. A. Blunden beat D. Jeffries: R. K. Wood beat R. Livingstone: G. R. Gregory lost to S. D. Murray: R. Adams halved with R. E. Alexander: Harkness beat E. C. Tapley; A. G. Jameson lost to A. R. Barnsdale; N. E. Tingey lost to W. K. L. Doug all; T. S. Knight beat G. E. Hoffman; D. W. Russell beat P. H. N. Freeth; T. Condliffe lost to J. L. Davis; A. P. Hobson lost to G. W. Russell; F. V. Collins lost to A. Dewhirst; S. Duncan beat A. G. Barnett; F. C. Fraser halved with T. J. Kirk-Burnnand.
Four-ball match play over 18 holes was played In the afternoon, the Tin Hat Club winning by 5J games to 3%. Results:— Dinneen and W- T. Wood beat Nicholas and Stubbings; Gabites and White lost to Patterson and Menzies; Blunden and Tonkin beat Jeffries and Penman; Gregory and R. K. Wood lost to Livingstone and Murray; Adams and Harkness beat Alexander and Tapley; Jamieson and Tingey beat Barnsdale and Dougall; Knight and D. W. Russell beat Freeth and Hoffman; Condliffe and Hobson halved with Davis and G. W. Russell; Collins and Duncan lost to Barnett and Dewhirst.
