CYPRUS

Sir, —N. M. Bell is using the situation, as previously stated, just to “have a go at Britain.’’ His troubles on the island are the inhabitants. The latter are under the shelter of the British flag and. like N. M. Bell in New Zealand, always well treated. He prates a lot about the rights of democracy, but the position is too serious to be taken ligntly. No other choice could have been made, and the situation was considered from all angles very thoroughly before the final decision was made.—Yours, etc., O. M. BRUNDALL. August .31, 1954.
