DISQUALIFICATION OF G. MOORE

THREE-YEAR TERM (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 30. The Australian Jockey Club committee today fixed the disqualification of the jockey, George Moore, at three years, as from February 12, 1954. In March, Moore was disqualified at the committee’s pleasure. This was after charges involving malpractice had been made against him. Today’s move was the result of an application by Moore, through his solicitor, to have the indefinite sentence reviewed. The committee reported that they had given Consideration to submissions by Moore's solicitor. They said, however, that they reaffirmed the expressed view that the offence proved was serious, and such as to require disqualification for a substantial term mot only as a punishment but as a deterrent.
