RESULTS OF WAIKATO EVENT ’ (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 12. The winner of the New Zealand championship reliability trial held in conjunction with the Indianapolis 500 in the Waikato last week was a Ford Pilot driven by L. and B. McLaren, of Auckland, with the loss of 199 points. Other results announced by the secretary of the Hamilton Car Club (Mr J. M. Griffith) today are: Volkswagen, R. E. Buckthought and P. J. Strong (Wellington), 266 points, 2; Ford V 8 I. R. Jones and N. Kirton (Clevedon). 279 points, 3; Morris Minor, J. Boyd (Papatoetoe), and P. Kerr (Auckland), 290, 4: Ford VB, J. N. Mackintosh (Wanganui) and D. L. Sherriff (Palmerston North), 339, 5; Ford Zephyr, A. J. Wilkinson and I. W. Cranston (Cambridge), 357, 6; Citroen, J. Harwood (Inglewood) and K. K. Hughes (New Plymouth), 437, 7; Citroen, G. C. Lake and R. G. Munro (Otorohanga), 450, 8; Humber, R. H. Greenwall and S. M. Pratt (Pukekohe), 463, 9; Ford Consul, D. Badham and K. A. Fulljames (Auckland), 501, 10, Aged car prize: Standard 14, D. Donaldson arid A. Johnson (Auckland), only aged car to finish.
