N.Z. JUNIOR RED CROSS

DECISIONS BY COUNCIL (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 3. Miss M. A. Magill, of Wellington, was elected chairman of the council of the New Zealand Junior Red Cross Society at its conference in Wellington. It was decided to continue supporting a child at a Swiss “preventorium,” and to make further contributions to the Milk for Malaya Fund. The meeting discussed the revival of the national camp, with the hope of holding one next January in conjunction with the V.A.D.’s. That there were 100,000 orphans in Korea made a strong appeal to New Zealand children, who would collect new and used warm clothing for them next winter, it was reported. As a further project for the coming year the Junior Red Cross Society will send knitted garments to the lepers in North India.
