QUARTERLY MEETING OF MOTHERS’ UNION
The diocesan president of the Mothers’ Union (Mrs A. K. Warren) presided over • a large attendance of branch representatives from South and North Canterbury and from city and country branches at the quarterly meeting of the council of the union. Business of the council was dealt with and reports received from representatives on the National Council of Women and the National Council of Churches.
It was announced that leaders of young wives’ groups will attend a conference to be held in Wellington in August.
Mrs Warren spoke of the Pan-Ameri-can Congress and the second Assembly of the World Council of Churches, which are to be held in August, and which she will attend as a delegate. Mrs Martin Sullivan and Mrs A. C. Purchas wished Mrs Warren a happy voyage and presented her with a book on behalf of the council.
