TRADE WITH SOVIET
U.S. Policy ‘More Restrictive’
(Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Mar. 23. The Secretary of State (Mr Dulles) said today that a proposal to hold a conference of the principal Western Allies on East-West trade was being explored. Mr D jlles was commenting upon a British Government statement yesterday that it was determined to bring about the maximum trade with the Soviet Union without sacrificing security considerations.
He said that the views of the United States appeared to be in favour of a greater measure of restriction than seemed to be desired by the principal Allies of the United States.
