COOK ISLANDERS’ VISIT

MAUI POMARE DIVERTED FROM LYTTELTON (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 2. The Maui Pomare, in which are travelling Cook Islands guests of the Government at functions associated with the Queen’s visit next month, has been diverted from Lyttelton and will probably arrive at Auckland on Tuesday. The Department of Islands Territories is arranging a comprehensive tour for the visitors that will take them north of Auckland and among the Maori settlements on the east coast. The visitors will arrive in Wellington about January 10 and will attend the Royal garden party and the State opening of Parliament. They will also be present at the national Maori reception for the Queen at Rotorua.
