M.C.C. TOUR OF WEST INDIES

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, July 17. Although no official announcement is expected until the end of this month, it is taken for granted that Len Hutton will captain the M.C.C. team to tour the West Indies during the winter.

Charles Eray suggests in the “Daily Herald” that Charles Palmer, the Leicester secretary-captain, may be appointed manager and that England’s present test team, together with P. May and R. Tattersall, will be among those invited to make the tour. For the first time there will be five six-day tests, two being in Jamaica. The team will also play against the Windward and Leeward Islands in Grenada and Antigua.
