REINFORCEMENTS NOT DISCUSSED
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 14. “There has been no approach yet made to us by the United Kingdom Government, and the Cabinet has not considered the question of supplementing the New Zealand fighter squadron based on Cyprus.” said the ActingPrime Minister (Mr K. J. Holyoake) today. ; - Mr Holyoake was asked whether steps would be taken to increase New Zealand’s military representation in the Middle East area, in view of the reported movement of British forces to the Canal Zone in Egypt No. 14 Fighter Squadron, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, which has been based on Cyprus for a year, recently undertook a tour of duty in Egypt,
