MINISTER BIDDEN FAREWELL

THE REV. J. S. STRANG, OF RICCARTON

The Rev. J. S. Strang, minister of St Ninian’s Presbyterian Church, Riccarton for the last 11 years, was bidden farewell by members of the church. He will leave next week to become minister of Trinity Church, Nelson. About 250 persons attended the farewell function, and Mr and Mrs Strang arid their three children were presented with a cheque and personal gifts. The Moderator of the Christchurch Presbytery (the Rev. I. R. Polson) spoke on behalf of the presbytery. The Mayor of Riccarton (Mr H. S. S. Kyle) praised Mr Strang’s readiness to help on civic occasions. Good wishes on behalf of other denominations were extended to Mr Strang by the Rev. C. Tanner, of St James’s Anglican Church. The Very Rev. G. Miller, Mr R. V. Gilmour, and Mrs Royds spoke on behalf of the members of St. Ninian’s Church.
