CRUISING CLUB’S BALL
180 GUESTS ATTEND Distinctive decorations were used with fine effect in the Mayfair Lounge on Saturday evening, when the Banks Peninsula Cruising Club held its annual ball, which was attended by about 180 guests. A big Union Jack and bunting in blue and tangerine, the club's colours, figured in the decorative scheme. The guests of honour included commodores of sister clubs and their wives. Captain A. R. Champion (harbourmaster at Lyttelton), and Mrs Champion, and Mr W. H. Beanland (president of the Canterbury PowerBoat and Sailing Club), and Mrs Beanland.
'Die function was arranged by the following members of the executive;— Messrs A. C. Lambert (commodore), O. H. Barns. W. H. Browne. R. B. Neale, S. J. Wearn, L. D. Taylor, T. Berland, D. N. Cresswell; J. Doleman. A. Haworth, G. I. F. Trelefiven, R. N. Walter, and G. R. Towart (secretary).
