BOWLS

REDCLIFFS CLUB The women’s section pf the Redcliffs Bowling Club was opened by the president (Mrs A. Taylor). Mr F. King spoke on behalf of the men’s section. The first kitty was rolled by Mrs A. Olliver, and Mrs Senior delivered the first bowl. BARRINGTON LADIES’ CLUB The newly-formed Barrington Ladies’ Bowling Club’s season was opened recently. Visitors included the vice-presi-dent of the Dominion Ladies’ Bowling Council (Miss D. E. Lane), the president of the Christchurch Ladies’ B exiling Centre (Mrs J. Andrews), and the president of the Barrington Bowling Club (Mr J. N. Crawford). A competition cup was presented by Mr A. S. Crowe, who said he hoped the club would have every success. The secretary, Mrs A. C. Mahan, rolled the first jack, and Miss Lane delivered the first bowl. NEW BRIGHTON CLUB The women’s section of the New Brighton Bowling Club opened its season recently. The president (Mrs E. Chambers) welcomed Mrs Cairney, of the Christchurch Ladies’ Bowling Centre. Mrs Cairney sent up the nrst jack and Mrs C. Hudson played the first bowl.
