STAFF CHANGES AT HOSPITAL
Mr P. W. Cotter has relinquished his position of senior surgical registrar at the Christchurch Hospital and has been replaced by Dr. W. L. F. Utley. Dr. J. K. Laing’s appointment as senior medical registrar has been approved by the Director-General of Health (Dr. J. Cairney). Dr. Jean Butt and Dr. G. D. Murphy have taken up residence at the Cashmere Sanatorium, and Dr. T. O. Enticott begins his overseas study leave on October 23.
Dr. A. J. Campbell, the board’s radiotherapist, will leave Wellington on November 28 to commence the overseas post-graduate medical studyleave authorised by the Minister of Health (Mr J. R. Marshall). Dr. Campbell will spend about three weeks in Melbourne before leaving for England. In Britain he proposes to visit hospitals in London, Manchester, and Edinburgh. and. if time allows, other centres, and possibly the Continent. On his way home Dr. Campbell hopes to spend about six weeks in the United States. While overseas he will make a special study of the latest advances in radiotherapy.
