MAGISTRATE’S COURT
~ WEDNESDAY (Before Mr S. F. Marshall, J.P., and Mr C. A. Cooper, J.P.) COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE Ronald Bernard Sherlock, aged 18, a farm labourer (Mr B. J t Drake), pleaded guilty to a charge that on September 13 he indecently assaulted a girl aged 5. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. CHARGE OF FORGERY Hubert John Taylor, aged 23, a motordriver and cook, pleaded guilty to a charge that, on May 16, at Dunedin, he altered the date on a rent receipt for £l5 3s 4d, issued by Messrs Brent, Anderson and Stewart, solicitors, to Vera Elizabeth Richards, to purport to show that the rent had been paid to June 3 instead of May 3, thereby committing forgery. Taylor also pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing £9 3s 4d. the property of Vera Richards. He was comihitted to the Supreme Court for sentence. Detective-Sergeant G. W. Alty prosecuted in both cases. (Before Mr F. F. Reid, -S.M.) UNREGISTERED DOGS James Clapton East and William Joseph Loader were each fined 10s .on a charge of failing to register a opg. Mr I. D. Bennetts appeared for the Waimaxri County Council.
