DISAPPEARANCE OF LIVE SHELLS
POLICE INVESTIGATION BEGUN (Ntw Zealand Pres* Association’ WELLINGTON, October 23. Police and military authorities are concerned at the disappearance of two live rounds of six-pounder ammunition. Late in September the ammunition was sent to Wellington by truck from Makomako, near Pahiatua, and then shipped to Burnham Military Camp. The Wellington police received the complaint to-day. It is not yet known from where or when the rounds disappeared. Southern police will investigate the possibility of the cargo having been broached.
