The West Australian Derby winner, Jovial Lad, finished brilliantly to beat Beau Avion and Savoy in the Invitation Stakes at Caulfield to-day. High Jip went to the front at the five, followed by Beau Avion with Jovial Lad last. In the straight Jovial Lad ran down the speedy Beau Avion to win by a length and a half.
