MAYORAL ELECTION AT DUNEDIN

CITIZENS’ ASSOCIATION CANDIDATE CHOSEN (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, September 17. The official candidate of the Dunedin Citizens’ Association for the Mayoralty of Dunedin at the elections to be held on November 18 will be the DeputyMayor (Councillor L. M. Wright). The chairman of the general committee of the council (Councillor E. J. Smith), who earlier announced that he would be a candidate, has withdrawn.

Four new candidates for the City Council have been nominated by the Citizens’ Association, which has announced its intention of putting forward a full “ticket” for this election as well as for the Otago Hospital and Harbour Boards.
