CHURCH CONGRESS AND HUMAN SUFFERING

Sir, —“Brabeus” asks, in relation to human suffering, “Is there any way of solving this difficulty without shutting one’s eyes to the horrors of the outside world?” I reply, “Yes, but not until the doctrine of reincarnation is once again propounded and understood to be a literal truth. The ancient philosophic scientists taught this, and their writings abound with references to this law. The psychologist, Jesus, taught it, and the inspired modern poets insist on it. Why make a man Poet Laureate if we do not heed what he tells us? Masefield gave us: I hold that when a person dies his soul returns again to earth. Arrayed in some new flesh disguise, Another mother gives him birth. With sturdier limb and brighter brain. The old soul takes the road again. Yours, etc., M. G. DAVIES. May 29, 1950.

Sir, —“Brabeus” and others allow their minds to dwell too much upon suffering—suffering that is for a moment when there is all eternity to be joyful in. Why blame God for the evil that wicked men have caused? His has promised always to care for His own, and thousands of thousands can say that. He has done so, despite any physical sufferings that they may have had.—Yours, etc., FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH. May 30, 1950.
