NEW LINER FOR ITALY

13,090-TON SHIP BUILT WITH MARSHALL AID ROME. May 22. The first Lloyd-Triestino liner built since the war, a 13,000-ton ship, named the Australia, was launched yesterday. She was built with Marshall Plan funds. The Australia will have a speed of 18 knots and carry 800 passengers and 7700 tons of cargo. The Lloyd-Triestino Societa Anonima di Navigazione is one of the bestknown Italian shipping companies. Its present fleet is 17 ships, of which the biggest is the Conte Biancamano (23.255 tons).
