DISTURBANCES IN MACASSAR

CASUALTIES REPORTED JAKARTA. May 21. Ten persons were killed and more than 100 were injured in clashes between Indonesian troops and guerrillas in Macassar, capital of Celebes. 1500 miles east of Jakarta, according to the Aneta News Agency. Communications with Macassar, which were interrupted on May 16. were reopened last night. The Aneta correspondent said that the clashes ceased when the Dutch and Indonesian Army commanders ordered the Indonesian troops under their command to return to barracks, and delivered an ultimatum to the sruerrillas to leave the town immediately. Dutch and Indonesian military police were maintaining security. The correspondent said that communications ceased when the telegraph office, because of the disturbances.- re'used to relay dispatches from Macassar to a transmitter outside the town.
