WAITEMATA POWER BOARD

INCREASE IN WAGES APPROVED (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 22. An increase of 5s a week in the pay of all its employees who are covered by industrial awards or whose salaries are not in excess of £5OO was authorised at a meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board, with a proviso that this payment be taken into account should either an Arbitration Court general order or amendments to industrial awards covering members of the staff be issued adjusting wages or salaries to the increased cost of living. Payment will be retrospective to May 8.
