DUVAUCHELLE DOG TRIALS
The Duvauchelle annual dog trials were held on Mr L. R. Craw’s property at Duvauchelle on Thursday in fine weather. The entries were smaller than last year, 30 being received in the heading event and 14 in the huntaway. Mr T. B. Morten was the judge, and the timekeepers were Messrs D. Stewart, D. Gardiner, and J. E. Armstrong. The Red Cross raised about £5O for its funds with proceeds from a refreshment booth. Results were:— Heading and Holding in Ring.—R. T. Masefield’s Tike, 53 points, 1; K, Allan’s Bob, 52, 2; A. Pettigrew’s Toby, 50, 3; D. O. Masefield’s Ben, 49, 4; W. Gebbie’s Dick, 48, 5; W. Gebbie’s Don, 47, 6; N. Mason’s Jack, 46, 7. Huntaway with Slew.—R. T. Masefield’s Smoke. 50 points, 1; R. T. Masefield's Don, 44, 2; K. Craw’s Glen, 43. 3; L. Craw’s Jack, 41, 4; W. Gebbie’s Speed, 39. 5; D. O. Masefield 6.
