ST. MARK’S CHURCH, OPAWA
VICAR APPOINTED The Rev. B. O. Plumb has been appointed vicar of St. Mark’s Church, Opawa, to succeed the Rev. J. F. Feron. After arriving from England in 1931 Mr Plumb was ordained in the diocese of Nelson, and was vicar of Murchison until 1933, when he was appointed an assistant curate at the Nelson Cathedral until 1935. During 1935 and 1936 he was at Blenheim. He then went to Oamaru for three years, and later to Waimea in the Diocese of Dunedin, where he was vicar from 1939 to 1942. Mr Plumb served overseas as a chaplain to the forces in both the 2nd N.Z.E.F. and the R.N.Z.A.F. Upon his release from the forces he was appointed vicar of the parochial district of Banks Peninsula, with headquarters at Okains Bay. It is expected that Mr Plumb will be inducted as vicar of Opawa during the first week in February of next year.
