LIVERPOOL MINE AGAIN IDLE
From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, July 21. The Liverpool State coal mine, which resumed work on Tuesday night after the 22-day strike, was idle again today from about 10.30 a.m.. because of a breakdown in the gearbox of the electric engine which runs the main haulage. The miners had to cease work because the hewn coal could not be disposed of. Repairs to the gearbox were made and the mine will resume to-morrow. All other State coal mines in the Grey district, including the Strongman colliery, which resumed on the afternoon shift on Tuesday after the strike, were -in production to-day.
