THE ROYAL VISIT

LIGHTING RESTRICTIONS TO BE LIFTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 17. The secretary of the Municipal Association (Mr A. E. Hurley) has announced that information of interest to local bodies and others concerned with arrangements for the Royal visit next year has been conveyed to the Municipal Association by the Prime Minister (Mr P. Fraser). It is proposed to lift lighting restrictions for the period of the actual visit by Royalty to any particular locality. In respect of import restrictions on purchases, favourable consideration will be given to applications by individual local bodies for reasonable importations of materials, such as bunting and electrical materials, directly associated with the Royal visit.
