NEW ZEALAND CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Sir, —As one who has been keenly interested in cycling for many years, I would like to congratulate two Canterbury riders, Lock and Noel Mills, on their riding ip the 10-mile championship. The tactics of certain pacemakers, of which the less said the better, allowed one rider to get a break on the rest of the field Quick thinking and superb riding on the part of Mills, who bridged the gap. allowed Lock to get a well-deserved win, though in doing as he did Mills sacrificed his own chance of success, proving himself a real sportsman.—Yours, etc., A J. JONES. Rangiora, March 18, 1948.
