PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP AT TIMARU THREE ONE-LIFERS LEFT From Our Own Reporter TIMARU. March 10. When the champion pairs competition of the South Canterbury Women’s Bowling Centre was played on the Kia Toa green to-day, three pairs remained in at the end of the day with one life. These are Mesdames F. Home and J. Luck (Ashbury), G. Gibb and J. Hardingham (Timaru), and Marshall and Frisby (Temuka), who will take part in the final matches next week. Results were:—
First Round.—Mesdames R. Kirk and T. Stevens (Waimate), a bye; Mesdames F. Home and J. Luck (Ashbury) 19, Mesdames P. Carlton and Campbell (Fairlie) IB; Mesdames C. Arnst and Armstrong (West End) 12, Mesdames J. Murphy and Healty (Park) 11; Mesdames G. Gibb and J. Hardingham (Timaru) 18. Mesdames Howard and Milnes (Hlghfield) 5; Mesdames Marshall and Frisby (Temukal 15, Mesdames Crisp and Dennison (Kia Toa) 7.
Second Round.—Mesdames Howard and Luck, byes; Mrs Gibb 13. Mrs Arnst 10; Mrs Marshall 18, Mrs Kirk 5; Mrs Carlton 9, Mrs Murphy 8; Mrs Howard 20, Mrs Crisp 9.
Third Round.—Mesdames Gibb and Hardingham, byes; Mrs Marshall 23, Mrs Horne 7; Mrs Kirk 16, Mrs Arnst 5; Mrs Carlton 12, Mrs Howard 9.
Fourth Round.—Mesdames Marshall and Frisby, byes; Mrs Gibb 19, Mrs Carlton 10; Mrs Home 15, Mrs Kirk 14. Fifth Round.—Mesdames Gibb and Hardingham, byes; Mrs Home 23, Mrs Marshall 6.
Sixth Round.—Mesdames Home and Luck, byes; Mrs Marshall 17, Mrs Gibb 6.
