PURCHASE OF FILM PROJECTOR APPROVED

The West Coast Amateur Swimming Centre has of the purchase of a sound film projector costing £273. It was reported at a recent meeting that already much success had been achieved in the coaching of non-swim-mers and in improving others as a result of the efforts of the local coaches. It was decided to suggest to the Education Department that there be a proviso on the educational certificate of a child who passes the sixth standard that the child can swim a distance of 25 yards. It was decided to ask the New Zealand Association to protest to the International Association about the classing of physical education officers as professionals.
