WEST COAST CRICKET ASSOCIATION
RESIGNATION OF SECRETARY Mr G. Sansom tendered his resignation as secretary of the West Coast Cricket Association at a meeting of the management committee, after a heated discussion and criticism by members of the association of the secretary's action in taking three players to Canterbury to take part in the Canterbury Minor Associations’ match after the association had decided that no West Coast players would take part in the match. The resignation was accepted, and Mr D. Dewar was appointed interim secretary.
T. Pfahlert and A. Knapp will be asked to attend the next meeting of the association to give their reason for going to Christchurch with the secretary against the wishes of the association. It was also decided to write to the Canterbury Association protesting against its action in inviting three players to take part in the match after receiving the association's letter stating its reason for not taking part.
