OPAWA SCHOOL FAIR
Sir,—Who ar© these narrow-minded gentlemen who object to the Opawa branch of the Labour Party supporting the school committee in its drive to obtain funds for the improvement of grounds, etc? If the committee weie to adopt the same parochial attitude, they would be merely cutting off their noses to spite their faces. From the profit derived National’s son will receive the same measure of benefit as Labourite’s son, and no hard feelings, we hope. We expect that Mr Fraser and Mr Holland will sink their political differences in a common effort to help Britain; so we should all be prepared to help a worthy cause and not stop to consider which party is the sponsor. I would ask the member for St. Albans if his party has ever sought the help of the school committee. — Yours, etc., L. C. J. SOUTHON. September 26, 1947.
