THREE SMALL FIRES

Three small fires were put out by the Christchurch Fire Brigade yesterday. Two were , grass fires late in the afternoon by the side of the railway line, one near the Woolston station, and the other near the Opawa station. Both were put out before any damage was done. At 9.37 p.in. a call was received to a fire on the premises of Textile Industries, Ltd., at 38 Sandyford street, Sydenham. Some flock had caught alight, it is believed from a spark caused by a button or similar object being caught in the teasing machine. Only slight damage was done.
