REPARATIONS PROGRAMME
UNIONS ADVOCATE SABOTAGE DEFIANCE OF OCCUPATION AUTHORITIES (Special Correspondent N.ZJ’A.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, June 10. A special correspondent of the •News Chronicle” in the British zone cf Germany reports that the German trade unions are now openly defying the occupation authorities by instructing German workers to sabotage the Allied reparations programme. “Before God and mankind your duty is clear,” says one union manifesto. "■Refuse all jobs connected with the dismantling of factories or the removal of equipment.” This attitude is now a fundamental part of all trade union and party policy. Interference and obstruction in Works allocated for reparations have already begun and are increasing. The Germans believe that the more difficult it is made for Britain and America to honour the claims of the other Aites the sooner will the reparations Programme be abandoned Politicians an d businessmen are taking a leading Part in advocating resistance.
