DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD
ORDINANCE TO BE ISSUED 7 p.m.) HERFORD. June 9. Air Chief Marshal Sir Sholto Douglas. the British Commander-in-Chief in Germany, announced that a bizonal ordinance for the distribution of food in the British and American zones of Germany similar to the ordinance of May 29, setting up an economic adwould shortly be issued. The food situation in the British zone was no better than last year, and mere was not much prospect of an increase in the fat ration in the next 12 months. 4K **Th e only new feature,” he said, "is fnat this year we expect to provide a t least the current amount of food Until the harvest, and if the United states harvest is good, we may be at) le to increase the ration slightly.”
