DEATH SENTENCE IN JUGOSLAVIA

MAN SAID TO BE U.S. NATIONAL LONDON, January 23. The correspondent of the British United Press in Belgrade reports that a Jugoslav court has sentenced to death Ivan Pintar, who is stated to be a United States nationa.l, and three Jugoslavs, for “serving international reactionaries and encouraging crusaders and terrorist bands.” It is stated that Pintar was born in Chicago, and registered with the United States Consulate in March. 1946. .
